About Us
The Filipino Association in Jamaica Ltd. was formed by a group of Filipinos living in Jamaica. The association was officially registered at the Companies Office of Jamaica in September 2, 2009, as a non-profit organization.

It is not fully known how long Filipinos have been in Jamaica. However, based on the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Philippines, the Philippines and Jamaica has been in diplomatic relations since September 18, 1951.

We, Filipinos in Jamaica, call ourselves Filamaicans (derived from Filipino and Jamaican). The Association was formed to provide fellowship and support to Filipinos who come to Jamaica. Being far from home and families, we wanted to bring comfort to the Filipinos here. Our community is small compared to others around the world, but we put our best effort to help ease the homesickness by continuing our FIlipino culture and traditions in Jamaica.
